Mobile devices have changed radically over the last few years. Significant development in mobile capabilities coupled with widespread use has also increased security and privacy concerns for corporations. High speed (out-of-band) networks, massive data storage, 24/7 tracking, unique forensic issues, and a rise in USB synching are just a few of the added woes to security professionals and management.

This program is designed to outline an effective mobile strategy by identifying tools, highlighting best practices, and providing overall strategy guidance. The end result will help attendees drive down a path of mobile security and governance.

Session Title Protecting Data in the Post-PC World
Start Time – End Time 2:15 – 2:45
Session Description As the use of tablets and mobile devices has proliferated in enterprises, the issue of protecting sensitive data has jumped to the forefront of many CISOs’ minds. Whether sanctioned by IT or not, employees have begun to access their data on post-PC devices, often via file-syncing applications like Dropbox and as email attachments. There are a variety of approaches to protecting this data, including mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), application containerization, virtual desktops, backhauling traffic, and building security into the data itself.

Session Title Defending Mobile Data
Start Time – End Time 3:00 – 3:45
Session Description Discuss how the enterprise customers are balancing data security risks in the context of an increasingly mobile workforce, and how they have put in place compensating controls, tools, and processes to keep their data secure.  Some companies are already building mature Mobile IT strategies and programs that provide a framework for defining and measuring risk exposure in highly regulated industries and share best practices from companies who have seen successful rollouts of corporate-owned and BYOD programs, and highlighting common issues/challenges they face along the way in driving enterprise-wide adoption of mobile devices, apps, and content.
